What do I need to know for my 1hr Blood Sugar Test?

The 'One Hour Blood Sugar Prenatal Screen' is done for pregnant patients around 26-28 weeks gestation. Be sure to keep the beverage refrigerated.

Instructions:
1. Two Hours before your appointment, do not eat, drink, or chew gum.

2. 45 minutes before your appointment, drink the entire bottle of the test beverage. You must drink the entire bottle within 5 minutes.

3. Note the time you finished drinking the test beverage as your blood must be drawn exactly 1 hour afterwards. Do not eat, drink, or chew gum until after your blood is drawn.

4. Arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment and tell the Front Desk what time you finished the drink
